This body of work draws upon the sub-consciousness and the psyche, using metaphor in a search for the sublime. Highlight and shadow create the idea of torchlight or ethereal light evoking a sense of unease, the suggestion of a presence linked to the ideas of life and death, something disquieting, unexplained beyond human experience. The negative or ‘ghost’ images envisage fading or the disintegration of material things. I am identifying concerns about humanity, our destiny and posing questions that can never be answered?
